What To Do After A LinkedIn Connection Is Accepted?

5 Minute Read

Now that you’ve been doing 15-25 daily connection requests to your target audience and you’ve received acceptances…the question is what do you do next….?

It’s time to start audit and engage! It should take 60 mins or less daily to audit & engage your acceptances. This is how I audit and engage:

  • Check how many acceptances…could be 2, 4, 6, 8 out of the 15-25 sent.

  • Check out each lead’s profile and see if they post.

  •  If the lead posts, I label them as a “hotter” lead, meaning they are more active on LinkedIn.

  • I then start engaging with their posts, liking and commenting. I ONLY comment if I can add actual value and I stay away from commenting like “great post” or “love this!” or “thanks a lot for sharing” etc. Valuable posts examples:

  • If your lead does not post be sure to check their activity on their profile and see if they comment. If they do, then there’s way you can learn about their interest to help with messaging which we will discuss next.

  • If your lead does not post content or comment, the good news…is your now a 1st degree connection with them, so you can now message them directly.

RECAP:

Auditing and engaging is an art. Starting out it took me 5-10 mins a day to do this and it makes all the difference. The more you engage and comment with your target audience, the better. It sets a great impression and can make all the difference. The cool thing about LinkedIn is it will send signals to your lead too as you visit their profile and view and of course as you’re commenting and liking posts…always keeping you top of mind!

Now onto messaging!
